Burns & McDonnell is looking for a Project Manager to join the underground­­ transmission team in our Roanoke, VA office. The successful candidate will manage and coordinate the overall delivery of our services to make our clients successful. Specific responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:.

Promoting a safety first culture

Management and development of client relationships

Selling Burns & McDonnell’s services
•
Leading response to requests for proposals
•
Management of project financial performance
•
Management of internal and external project communication
•
Application of technical project management skills
•
Other duties as assigned
•
Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an accredited curriculum.
•
Minimum 7 years related experience, including 3 or more years managing transmission projects in the Transmission & Distribution industry.
•
Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government and public contracts on project-related matters.
•
PE registration is desired.
•
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
•
Experience in underground transmission projects is preferred.
•
Demonstrated results in managing projects, which includes proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.
•
Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem solving skills.
•
Excellent planning and analytical skills.
•
Must demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
•
Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools including the use of Microsoft Project or equivalent.
