FIREFIGHTER
EMTs, AEMTs, and Paramedics are encouraged to apply! Annual ALS Stipend for AEMT ($2K) and Paramedic ($3K)
Non-Transport Advanced Life Support, with ALS Engine(s);
Regional Technical Rescue Team (Rope/Confined Space/Trench/Collapse/Water Rescue;
Ohio River Response with 1 Fire Boat and 1 Rescue Boat;
Promotional Opportunity to Engineer or Lieutenant after 4 years;
Minimum hiring age 18 (if additional qualifications are met);
Professional Development a priority.
Annual Pay: $52,213/yr., plus State Incentive Pay of $4,300/yr., paid in monthly increments once certified as a Kentucky Firefighter
RECRUITMENT PROCESS (Dates subject to change):
· MANDATORY Written Exam: October 18, 2023 at 9:00am OR 5:30pm (hold both times).
· MANDATORY Oral Exam: Week of October 30-Nov. 2 (tentative); If you successfully complete, then you may undergo
· MANDATORY Further Evaluation (e.g., Background screening, interview, etc.); dates to be determined, and if contingently offered a position, then
· MANDATORY satisfactory completion of post-offer, pre-employment requirements; dates to be determined.
· MANDATORY CPAT requirement must be obtained independently by November 17, 2023 (see below).
CPAT Requirement: ***There is not a CPAT process scheduled in Owensboro at this time ***
The State Fire Commission is conducting CPAT processes at the locations/dates listed below (at no cost).

2023 CPAT Schedule (ONE-DAY ORIENTATION AND TEST)
Paris – October 10-11 or Burlington – November 7-8
Available times for both sites: 8 am | 10 am | 1 pm | 3 pm | 5 pm | 10 candidates per time slot
Other CPAT alternatives: Indianapolis, IN (317) 988-7703; Vincennes University in IN (812) 888-2871 – there is a fee associated with these testing facilities
