The University of Georgia Facilities Management Division is the largest of seven (7) divisions reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration. Preferred Qualifications Position Summary
This position is a manual labor position that provides operational support of the grounds department pruning crew. Reporting directly to a crew leader (Landscape Pruning Specialist), this position assists the crew with completing work assigned to the crew to include performing maintenance, structural and rejuvenation pruning of landscape plants on campus utilizing proper pruning techniques. This position assists with loading, securing and unloading landscape debris in pickup trucks, dump trucks and trailers.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Ability to operate and maintain pruning equipment
Ability to operate all types of grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment to include mowers, tractors, trimmers, edgers, backpack blowers, and skid steers.
Understand and follow specific oral and written instructions
Physical Demands
Constant physical labor 8 hours a day/5 days a week
Extensive/constant stooping, bending, squatting and working with your hands above your head; lift up to 75 lbs. consistently throughout the workday.
Perform heavy labor often under adverse weather climatic conditions (cold, heat, rain, snow)
