POSITION:               Snowmaker
FLSA: Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Snowmaking
REPORTS TO: Manager of Mountain Operations
SUMMARY: Wintergreen Resort's Snowmaking team maintain the snow guns, hoses, hydrant and pump when snowmaking is operational. This job involves working as part of a team to open and maintain skiing terrain with the best possible snow that can be created. Wintergreen’s reputation depends on the snow you create! This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Snowmakers have little contact with the general public. Although the contact is minimal, it is essential that snowmakers maintain a polite, mature and respectful composure when interacting with any guest.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
• Shovel snow, remove snow around snowmaking equipment, and other areas as needed
• Adjusting, turning or moving of snow guns, sometimes by hand, to maintain snowmaking efficiency
• Work safely around heavy equipment, high air and water pressure hoses
• Follow all safety guidelines
• Have a positive attitude towards guest service.
• At times drive snowmobiles, UTVs, and trucks
• Able to respond quickly to requests by Management.
• Must follow policies and procedures outlined in the Wintergreen Handbook.
• Must be able to take on additional tasks and assignments assigned by the manager.
This is Seasonal Full Time or Part Time positions. Position will begin late November/early December and will end mid-March
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Skill & Abilities in: • Qualified applicants will be in good physical condition and able to work 12+ hour shifts outside in adverse weather conditions.
• Able to lift over 80 pounds when necessary
• Capable of walking on snow safely; and able to operate a snowmobile in a safe manner.
• Candidates must be able to communicate effectively with Manager, Compressor Building, and other snowmakers by use of two-way radio. Additionally, candidates must be at least 18 years of age, and be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education, Training and Experience Guidelines: High school diploma OR GED.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT: • Required to stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, kneel, stretch, reach, lift, climb and walk.
• Occasional lifting of objects of up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to tolerate long hours on the job and working in cold weather conditions
