Do you have purchasing and material scheduling experience? Our client in Ruckersville, VA is looking to add a Junior Buyer to their team. This will be a Monday-Friday schedule and pay will start at $20/hour.
Overview: The Buyer position is responsible for procurement, inventory management and tracking of parts usage. The position is further responsible for the timely planning, scheduling, receipt, and inventory control of productive material. This role must have an understanding of the procurement process and purchasing policies and be able to analyze cost savings opportunities. Inpidual will work closely with warehouse to identify storage locations for every part.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-Work with designated suppliers to maintain required stocking levels, billing, payment
terms and inventory review as necessary.
-Knowledge and ability to handle vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific
schedule requirements
-Tracks and enters Purchase Orders/requisitions and monitors progress and completion
of designated purchasing documents
-Responsible for establishing an operating database for every inventory part number
-Receives inventory and processes receipts per policy.
-Verifies parts received meet all quality requirements and resolves deficiencies
-Manages vendor managed inventory orders and receipts then insures all parts are
properly stocked.
-Monitor inventory performance at a part number level
-Perform physical inventory of parts according to corporate policy and in coordination
with warehouse team, and comply with cycle count procedures
-Knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures
-Place materials orders in a timely and effective manner to support production plan.
-Deliver ad hoc reports assigned by manager and perform other duties identified
Qualifications :
-High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred
-0 – 2 years of purchasing and material scheduling experience or have demonstrated
knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the mentioned tasks; including customer service experience in relationship with vendor relationships
-Warehouse management experience is desired.
-Excellent written and oral communications are essential as negotiations will be an
important role in this position
-Strong computer skills. Experience in ERP system a plus. Preferred experience in MISys
-Exposure to manufacturing of Electronic components or industrial chargers desired not
required.
-Working knowledge on inventory management techniques desire
