Job Description:
Talent Corps is looking for a 1 st shift, 6:00 am – 4:30 pm, Entry Level Maintenance Technician. Starting pay is $25.00 - $30.00/HR based on experience.
Summary:
Under the supervision of a senior maintenance team member, the Entry Level Maintenance Technician assists with keeping all plant equipment functioning properly, installing new equipment, and performing general building repair and upgrades as needed. This role works as part of a team to complete tasks quickly and effectively to meet business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain production equipment with supervision, including troubleshooting and repairing minor problems.
• Learn the basics of how production equipment works.
• Follow safety procedures, such as LOTO, confined space, and hot work.
• Work with other operators, mechanics, and supervisors to complete tasks.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, as assigned.
• Comply with all company safety and environmental regulations.
• Report unsafe conditions or injuries to a supervisor.
• Use personal protective equipment as required.
• Operate a forklift and scissor lift.
• Safely handle hazardous chemicals and waste, as assigned.
• Make recommendations for changes/improvements to ISO 9001 management systems.
Required Skills and Knowledge:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong math skills are a must.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently.
• Some familiarity with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to use hand and power tools.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong initiative and work ethic.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills and Knowledge:
• Previous industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to weld carbon steel and stainless steel.
• Ability to read equipment documentation.
• Familiarity with high/low voltage electrical.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
Ability to stand for 6-8 hours per day.
Ability to walk, sit, use hands and arms, finger, handle, feel, and reach.
Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
Ability to work in a loud environment with moving mechanical parts.
Ability to work in wet, humid conditions, with fumes or airborne particles, and with toxic or caustic chemicals.
