Job Purpose
The Group Day Support Program Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and supervision of the Group Day Support Program for individuals with developmental disabilities under VIA’s Adult Services policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
ISP Development and Implementation (in collaboration with the Director of Adult Services)
• Develop individual Plan for Supports in correlation with the individual’s Person Centered Plan for Group Day Support Services
• Utilize WAMS for uploading of participant plans and monitor the system regularly
• Incorporates results from appropriate annual assessment measures into ISP outcomes and activities
• Includes participant and/or guardian input in ISP development in a systematic and documented manner
• Participates in annual consumer planning meetings with individuals, caregivers and support coordinators
• Participates in Supports Intensity Scale (SIS) Assessments when appropriate
• Develops observable and measurable ISP outcomes and activities
• Reports and monitors consumer progress via individualized quarterly progress reports
Daily Instruction
• Oversee group day program
• Responsible for staff scheduling;
• Transports participants on outings and maintains safety of all participants in all program locations;
• Ensures that each participant is actively engaged and making progress towards their individualized program outcomes and activities
• Conducts programs and activities independently or in collaboration with other staff members
• Implements skill acquisition programs accurately and efficiently
• Uses evidence-based instructional technologies during program implementation
• Takes advantage of natural teaching opportunities
• Implements behavior support plans accurately (if applicable)
Data Collection and Analysis (in collaboration with the Director of Adult Services)
• Develop and implement participant data collection systems;
• Develops data collection system to measure participant progress towards ISP objectives and activities
• Collects data accurately
• Maintains accurate graphs in digital format
• Updates all program information in datasheets and Catalyst in a timely manner
• Takes initiative to design, implement, and improve participant programming
• Communicates any significant trends in behavior to Director of Adult Services and/or supervising Behavior Analyst
Community-Based Instruction
• Develops and maintains community relationships
• Safely transports participants to community settings as requested/required
• Leaves and arrives on time for community-based programs
• Ensures that programs are implemented accurately and efficiently in the community
• Takes advantage of natural teaching opportunities in the community
• Interacts appropriately and respectfully with other community members
• Assists participants in managing valuables, including money and personal belongings
Adult Services Management (in collaboration with the Director of Adult Services and supervisors)
• Be well-versed and able to communicate knowledgeably about VIA
• Maintain confidence and professionalism in all areas: communication, dress, and supervision
• Meet with and conduct tours with potential participants
• Complete intake documentation for new individuals who wish to participate inVIA’s Adult Services
• Develop, implement, and train staff on necessary forms for VIA, local, and state agencies; Supervise, oversee, and train behavior tech direct care staff;
• Performs proficiency checks for staff
• Provides ongoing performance feedback to staff
• Fosters positive relationships with and among staff members
• Develops and maintains daily, weekly, and monthly schedule for services
• Monitors attendance and timeliness of staff
• Communicates and monitors jobs/tasks
• Collaborates with other supervisors to conduct evaluations for annual reviews
• Troubleshoot challenges with Director of Adult Services;
Parent and Family Communication
• Communicates with participants, families, and agencies regularly
• Answers individual-specific questions and share information with the team
• Notifies parents and families of participant injury or illness
• Responds to all participant and guardian communications in a timely manner (e.g. return phone calls, respond to emails)
Additional Responsibilities
• Ensure that participant records are maintained per organizational and licensure standards in conjunction with the Director of Adult Services and/or Director of Compliance
• Demonstrates professionalism at all times
• Maintain confidentiality with staff, participants, public and private agencies
• Navigates and keeps up to date on DBHDS/DMAS regulations
• Assists with program development and systems as directed by Director of Adult Services
• Attends and participates in VIA committees
• Champions special projects
Requirements:
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in related field (Master’s degree preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree required (preferably in Psychology, Human Development, Social Work, Behavior Science, Education, or a related field)
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Products
• Excellent written and oral communication
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with individuals with autism and related developmental disabilities
• Ability to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor when working with students, consumers, families, staff and visitors
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with attention to accuracy and detail
• Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required within 90 days of start date
• Experience in the application of applied behavior analysis in the education of adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred
• Experience providing Developmental Disability Waiver Services and developing ISPs is preferred
• Valid driver’s license is required
Direct Reports
This position supervises Group Day Support Behavior Technicians.
Physical Requirements
The ability to move independently throughout a wide range of environments, some of which may not be wheelchair or otherwise handicapped accessible, is required. Transportation to locations that may not be served by public transportation may be necessary.
