Virginia Prosthetics & Orthotics is a well-known and respected provider of quality orthotic and prosthetics services. We are seeking to hire an on-site (full-time) Insurance Specialist for the clinic in Roanoke, VI. This clinic has a talented team that focuses on the highest level of patient care. In this role, the candidate will facilitate an excellent patient experience by providing the highest level of customer service to patients and their family members, other healthcare entities, and fellow employees both in-person and over the phone. This role is responsible for activities associated with administrative operations.
This position is responsible for maintain patient records, verifying eligibility and obtaining authorization.
Essential Functions
• Review patient notes for completeness and accuracy.
• Create written orders and prescriptions and forward to doctor’s offices for approval.
• Complete records request from outside parties.
• Provide patients with an explanation of patient benefits, patient portion and payment plan options.
• Verify insurance benefits.
• Obtain insurance authorization and document accordingly
• Analyze medical review policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to communicate through different medias such as telephone, email, etc.
• Computer Proficiency
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• One to three years’ experience working in the healthcare field.
• Able to work overtime.
