Looking for a state job with state benefits, well here is your opportunity. The Virginia State Police is seeking to hire an Office Services Assistant at the State Police Area Office located in Natural Bridge, Virginia. This position will be responsible for the proper submission of bills submitted for payment, preparing, and entering bi-weekly schedules for area operations, and accepting and distributing court subpoenas to applicable members. This position will review reports for accuracy, type correspondence, forms, reports, and other miscellaneous items for the Area First Sergeant, Sergeants, and Troopers. This position will be responsible for handling the area supply orders and entering vehicle expense reports.

• Serves as a receptionist.
• Reviews bills for accuracy.
• Types routine reports, correspondence, and forms.
• Sends and receives electronic mail.
• Checks reports for accuracy.
• Files reports.
• Enters data into computer programs.
• Retrieves statistical data from computer programs and compiles reports.
• Manages all supplies and equipment.
• Maintains and logs Virginia Uniform Traffic Summonses.
Minimum Qualifications
• Working knowledge of general office and clerical practices and procedures; filing principles; basic mathematics; office equipment; filing systems; and standard English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and usage.
• Skill in the use of computers and using Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated ability to perform receptionist work in a professional manner; communicate effectively in English orally and in writing with staff, Department officials and the public; interpret and follow written and oral instructions and administrative policies and procedures; make basic mathematical computations; maintain and update files, records, and reports; type routine correspondence and prepare routine reports; and work independently as a member of a team.
• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Previous customer service and clerical and/or Word Processing experience.
• Requires either United States citizenship or must have been a lawful resident of the United States for the past 10 consecutive years to apply for Virginia Criminal Information Network (VCIN) certification.
