Athens Veterinary Surgery Center in Athens, Ga is seeking an experienced Client Service Representative to join our referral surgical specialty practice.
Do you have an upbeat and outgoing personality? Are you passionate about providing exceptional customer service? Do you want to work in practice that specializes in surgical care? Do you want to make a difference in the lives of people and their pets?
The Client Service Representative will serve as a vital part of our practice team. This position is part-time and will support the surgeons and staff in their efforts to provide exceptional patient care and client service. General responsibilities include answering phones, setting up and processing referrals, greeting clients, assessing client needs, facilitating patient admission/discharge, and facility organization and cleanliness.
Skills and Qualifications
The ideal candidate will share the Athens Veterinary Surgery Center's philosophy of delivering the highest quality patient care and client service. The ideal candidate is/has:
• At least 18 years of age
• At least 2 years of excellent client care experience in preferrably in the small animal veterinary medical field
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
• Proficient in the proper handling of animals - dogs and cats
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
• Excellent writing and math skills
• Professional, friendly, honest, team player
• Upbeat, outgoing, and mature
• Compassionate and empathetic
• Highly motivated
• Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills
• A fast learner
• Well organized
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Reliable transportation
Duties and Responsibilities
• Answer telephones, setup and process referrals, greet clients, and guide clients and their pets to exam rooms (when appropriate)
• Triage: Assign degrees of urgency to ill or injured patients
• Maintain call log
• Be able to give directions
• Place calls for patient follow-ups and referrals
• Assist in admitting and discharging patients
• Explain various payment and financing options to clients.
• Work with clients to resolve inquiries, concerns, problems, and complaints
• Answer questions regarding client instructions
• Manage medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence
• Use practice management software
• Ensure that the client areas of the hospital are well maintained, organized, and clean at all times (which may include removal of animal waste in and outside the premises).
• Work weekdays, Monday through Friday.
• Keep walkways free of debris and ice
• Other duties as they arise
Physical Demands and Work Conditions
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lb. with reasonable accommodations.
• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms to handle, lift, and use a desk-based computer.
• Potential exposure to hazards associated with pets and veterinary care such as animal bites, scratches, noises, odors, allergens, animal waste, contagious diseases, medications, biohazards, chemical hazards, and anesthetic gases.
