Job Overview
• 12-week, competitively paid summer internship
• Shadow and assist Corporate Communications team members
• Gain a better understanding of communications tasks within an energy transmission company
Compensation
• Interns work 40 hours per week with paid company holidays
• Taxable housing stipend provided for eligible candidates
• Participants are eligible for full-time employment upon successful completion of the internship
Responsibilities
• Support the functions of the Corporate Communications team daily
• Capture compelling photos and videos of staff and work locations
• Gather and write stories for the weekly company newsletter
• Plan and participate in additional activities/events
• Travel to other Southern Star locations 50-75% of the time
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• Must be 18 years of age by the start of the summer internship and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.75
• Must be authorized to work in the United States
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited university/college pursuing a degree in communications, media, journalism, advertising, marketing, or a related field
• Experience in photography, video production, and writing
• Understanding of still camera and video camera functions and basic lighting
• Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Premiere, and Photoshop
