We're looking for an experienced medical collections specialist to join our brand new ophthalmology & optometry office.
Do you love the thrill of collecting money? Do you have recent experience with prior authorizations and verifying insurance on Availity, Palmetto, UHC and other payor portals? If so, this is the position for you! Looking for a detail oriented quick learner.
Primary duties include but are not limited to:
• Following up on insurance claims
• Filing appeals when necessary
• Verifying insurance benefits
• Calculating patient responsibility
• Obtaining prior authorizations
Qualifications:
• Minimum one (1) year RECENT Medical collections experience REQUIRED (please do not apply if you do not meet this requirement)
• Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 codes
• Familiar with payor websites and policies
• Experience obtaining prior authorizations
• Comfortable collecting insurance and patient balances
