Job Overview
• Join our team as a summer intern and gain exposure to project-based assignments
• Receive mentorship, detailed orientation and training, and valuable work assignments
• Perform basic financing tasks related to modeling, market research, analytics, and presentation development
• Support varied and diverse ad hoc strategy projects
• Participate in shadowing actual business case processes
• Work on unique assignments that support larger projects
• Experience the day-to-day workings of the department
• Build a strong network within the Southern Star community and with fellow interns
Compensation
• 12-week, competitively paid summer internship from May to August
• 40 hours per week with paid company holidays
• Taxable housing stipend may be provided if needed
• Opportunity for full-time employment after successful completion of the internship program
Responsibilities
• Conduct market research, planning, and strategy development
• Utilize financial modeling and analytical tools to build business cases
• Review income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows for trend analysis and identification of operational risks or opportunities
• Assist in ad hoc project analysis to support the corporate development team
Requirements
• Minimum age of 18 and a cumulative GPA of 2.75
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Sophomore candidate in their second year of discipline studies
• Junior and Senior candidates on track to graduate with a bachelor's/master's degree
• Major in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business Administration
• Planning to pursue a career in Finance
• Comfortable presenting to an audience
