POSITION : Part-Time Laboratory Assistant, Automotive Collision Repair, Hall Campus
REPORTS TO : Dean of Advanced Technology and Engineering; Applied Technology & Transportation
SALARY : $17 per hour
JOB SUMMARY
Lanier Technical College is accepting applications for an Automotive Collision Repair (ACR) Laboratory Assistant for its Hall County campus. The responsibility of this temporary part time position is to assist the program director with maintenance projects, lab updates and assist students as needed. Additional responsibilities may include performing general maintenance activities, housekeeping, and limited office tasks along with other duties as directed by the staff. Working hours will occur during the AM timeframe. This position is a temporary assignment with an estimated 20-25 hours per week.
MAJOR DUTIES
• Assist faculty members with lab instruction, exams, record keeping, adherence to safety procedures, tracking attendance and other miscellaneous tasks related to instruction
• Assist faculty with lab maintenance projects and upgrades, general housekeeping and materials inventory tracking
• Tutor or mentor students
COMPETENCIES
• Ability to assist faculty and students in Automotive Collision and Repair lab activities
• Ability to explain processes and procedures to students as it relates to lab activities
• Ability to assist in evaluating students’ progress, competency mastery, and completion of lab assignments
• Ability to ensure and enforce lab safety and security standards
• Ability to assess, track and document materials needs and inventory. Assist faculty with the order of materials.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
• Must have experience in the Automotive industry.
• Applicants should be neat in appearance and possess the ability to work well with others.
• Applicants must be dependable, punctual, and be able to work the required hours each week.
• As with all LTC employees, a background investigation is required which may include, but is not limited to, a review and/or verification of criminal history records, motor/vehicle driver’s history records, employment history, references, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS :
· Knowledge of PPG refinish systems
· Ability to maintain equipment
· Ability to setup and configure training demonstrations
· Ability to lift 25 pounds
NOTE : Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis.

Minimum qualifications for this position will be determined by the teaching discipline and compliance with appropriate accrediting bodies. Faculty must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the course assigned.
