Assistant HR Manager - Full-time
Position Overview:
The Assistant HR Manager serves a vital role in supporting the HR department's operations and initiatives. Assist the VP of HR in ensuring the effective management of human resources functions within the organization. Responsibilities will encompass various HR areas: including but not limited to: recruitment, employee relations, compliance, training and development, and HR administration.
Reports to: VP of Human Resources
Key Responsibilities:
• Recruitment and Staffing:
• Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job vacancies, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and coordinating the selection process.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
• Manage the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and paperwork completion.
• Employee Relations:
• Address employee inquiries and concerns while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Assist in the resolution of employee disputes or conflicts, following company policies and relevant labor laws.
• Support VP of HR in creating a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
• Compliance and Policy Implementation:
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
• Help educate employees about company policies and procedures.
• Training and Staff Development:
• Identify training needs within the organization and coordinate training programs.
• Assist in the creation and delivery of training materials, including orientation programs, diversity training, and leadership development.
• HR Administration:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personnel files and HR databases.
• Assist with benefits administration, including enrollment and addressing employee inquiries.
• Handle HR-related paperwork, such as employment contracts and separation agreements.
• Assist in payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Benefits Administration:
• Assist in oversight of administer of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
• Assist employees with benefit inquiries and facilitate open enrollment processes.
• Ensure compliance with benefit plan regulations and coordinate with external benefit providers.
• Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare HR reports and analytics on various HR metrics, such as turnover, recruitment, and employee engagement.
• Assist in identifying trends and areas for improvement based on data analysis.
• Employee Engagement and Wellness:
• Support initiatives to enhance employee engagement and well-being.
• Organize employee events, recognition programs, and wellness activities.
• Special Projects:
• Participate in HR-related projects and initiatives as assigned by the HR Manager or Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or HR certification is a plus); three (3) to five (5) years of experience in HR and one (1) year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Proven experience in an HR role, preferably as an HR Coordinator or Generalist.
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Discretion and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
