Description:The Cognos Report Writer/Analyst works in conjunction with the Technology and Warehouse Operations teams to develop and support organization-wide reporting from Manhattan Active WM. This position is responsible for end-to-end report development including interaction with end users to gather requirements, understanding report objectives, designing, and developing reports using the available BI tools at hand and delivering reports to end users (including training end users on report writing.)Job Responsibilities:Development, maintenance, configuration, and administration of Cognos SCI applicationCreate, maintain, and enforce data delivery standards to ensure consistent information delivery methods across projects.Lead the development of business and functional requirements for reports with DC management teams to develop dashboards or reports focused on helping leaders manage the business.Design, develop, test, and implement reports as necessary to fulfill business requirements.Serve as a subject matter expert across the organization and assist users with reporting and analysis activities and tools, including ad hoc reporting.Support user training, testing, documentation, and roll-out of reports and end-user reporting tools.Maintain knowledge of business processes and application design and understand cross-functional business relationships and their use of information.Job Requirements:Cognos application administration and user maintenance experienceExperience building reports, dashboard is must.Advanced understanding of relational databases, SQL, and querying techniques.5+ years’ experience with Manhattan Warehouse Management suites or similar tier 1 systems.Translate business questions / requirements into meaningful reports.Ability to construct reusable reports based on common reporting requests using available tools.Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff and outside vendors.Desired Experience and Education:5+ years of general relational database and reporting development experience.5+ years’ experience with Manhattan Warehouse management suites or similar tier 1 systems.5+ years’ experience with BI (MicroStrategy preferred)/data warehousing reporting analysis, design, testing and administration.Bachelor’s degree in a related field.Deliverables:High Level and Detailed Design DocumentsWarehouse, Labor Management and Operational SCI Reports Tools for AnalysisRoles and Access MatrixUAT test resultProduction rollout
