Employment Type:Part timeShift:12 Hour Evening ShiftDescription:The paramedic is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of therapeutic patient care, patient advocacy, team dynamics and hospital systems. Requires a high degree of initiative and independent judgement.A: Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certified or Licensed as a Paramedic by the State of Georgia. Must be currently certified in Advanced Life Support and BLS/CPR , thru American Heart Association, required at time of hire.B. Education: High School Diploma required. The paramedic must hold current certification and meet all requirements of the Georgia Department of EMS.C: Experience: A minimum of 2yrs paramedic experience preferred.Special Qualifications: Is able to function independently with minimal supervision. Is directly responsible to the CTL and/or Charge Nurse in directing and providing patient care.Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk at a rapid pace. Must be able to bend , stoop, stand or squat when providing bedside care Must be able to push wheelchairs, stretchers, and beds. Must be able to transfer patients from wheelchairs, stretchers and beds. Heavy lifting of 50 pounds and over frequently throughout the day. Must be able to lift, move or position patients. Must be able to hear alarms, blood pressure, call bells, phones and intercoms. Must be able to see, hear and write. Must be quick to respond to stat requests. Computer skills required. Must have initiative to react to changes in work needs. Must be able to initiate CPR. Must have fine motor skills. Must be able to work in stressful situations. Should be clean, neat, & have a “professional” appearance.
