Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
• The ideal candidate will have a data and assessment background, strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to student success.
• Master's degree in education, higher education, student affairs, counseling, social sciences, statistics, or related discipline
• Minimum of two years of experience working with data, assessment, student learning outcomes, etc.
Position Summary
The Division of Academic Enhancement ( DAE ) is a unit of the Office of Instruction whose central mission is to provide campus-wide leadership, collaboration, and support on matters related to instruction and student success. DAE provides UGA students with a wide range of services and courses designed to support their academic efforts.
Reporting to the DAE Director, the Coordinator plays a key role in the division's ability to positively impact students' academic success by coordinating and maintaining central data collection and analysis efforts; collaboratively developing, implementing, and adapting programmatic assessment agendas; and utilizing current student data and patterns to inform division and campus-wide strategic change.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
• Knowledge of higher education, retention, assessment, and student success.
• Expertise with quantitative and qualitative data analytics and data management software (i.e. SPSS or R) and proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Qualtrics, and/or data dashboards like Tableau Software.
• Strong written, oral, and/or visual communication skills.
• Knowledge of and appreciation for a complex research university.
• Experience with program and/or student learning outcomes assessment
• Ability to conceive, plan, execute, and assess projects, student learning outcomes, and program evaluation.
• Knowledge of programming and organizational strategies and their application in the higher education setting.
• Attention to detail with regard to specific policies, practices, and standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively across a range of stakeholders, such as students, faculty, staff administrators, and external agencies.
• Ability to lead and/or work effectively with teams on specific projects in a collaborative atmosphere.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to set up and manage listservs and email distribution lists.
• Ability to learn new software and student information systems

• Coordinate division-wide assessment efforts in consultation with director, area leadership, and program coordinators.
• Work with DAE areas to strengthen and refine data and assessment plans to determine impact.
• Analyze data to identify student success trends and inform decision-making.

Tracking + Reporting
• Track and collect data collection needs for DAE's role in UGA strategic plans, unit-level plans, and program plans, Connect and Complete, data reporting plan, etc.
• Track progress and measure student success initiatives.
• Create, communicate, and report on student success outcomes to stakeholders through presentations, annual reports, press releases, newsletters, social media, etc.

Education
• Provide regular and ongoing training, consultation, and resource development to DAE faculty, staff, and graduate assistants on assessment and data analysis.
• Develop and deliver best practice workshops on student success assessment, data analysis, visualization, etc.
• Serve as a liaison to other units such as the Office of the Vice President for Instruction, Office of Institutional Research, Student Affairs, etc
