Employment Type:Part timeShift:Weekend ShiftDescription:Directly accountable to the Pharmacist for the quick and accurate preparation of drug and related documents for the care of patients. All drugs and documents will be checked prior to leaving the pharmacy; however technicians must strive for accuracy. Sterility of injections must be maintained at all times. The Technician is responsible for the proper care and cleaning of the laminar flow hoods and all other equipment, in the pharmacy, used to compound or pre-package medications. Additionally, the technician is responsible for maintaining adequate supplies of medications by ensuring all items are recorded on the order logJob DescriptionLicensure/Certification/Registration:  Although not required a Pharmacy Technician Certification associate degree are desirable and/or registration as Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent degree.Experience:  Although, not required, prior experience as a hospital or retail pharmacy technician is desirable.Special Qualifications:  A working knowledge of principles and practices of a hospital pharmacy department.  Including an understanding of the principles and policies of inpatient, outpatient and departmental dispensing and charging.  Must have an understanding of sterility principles and aseptic techniques.  The technician is expected to have 1) mathematical skills necessary for routine calculations of dosages; 2) oral, written and telephone communication skills to communicate with hospital staff and patients; 3) a general knowledge of computers including Microsoft Word and Exel.  Must demonstrate interpersonal skills and work as a member of an interdisciplinary teamOur Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion Trinity Health is a family of 115,000 colleagues and nearly 26,000 physicians and clinicians across 25 states.
