Description:
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting the General Manager in managing the daily hotel operations to achieve planned financial and human resource goals for the property as well as operating within company and brand standards. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by president of the company. Sales & Marketing • Direct the development and execution of strategic sales and marketing initiatives that lead to the achievement of: • Room revenue and total revenue goals • Fair Share RevPAR • Sales booking pace goals • Sales productivity goals • Participate in the daily and weekly revenue strategies • Support ongoing sales effort by participating in the direct sales effort, and those supporting the sales team Financial & Accounting • Ensure costs are controlled so IBFC goals can be achieved • Ensure proper flow-through goals are achieved for any revenue variance • Produce accurate and timely revenue and IBFC projections as required • Evaluate monthly financial statements and complete variance report which includes an analysis of revenues, expenses and 90-day forecasts • Comply with all management company accounting procedures Planning • Develop annual business plans including • Operating budget • Sales & Marketing plan • Capital plan Food & Beverage • Ability to oversee high volume food & beverage operations and deliver superior service • Work in conjunction with Corporate team to produce strong revenue and departmental profit Other Areas • Interact with guests and associates on a regular basis to drive guest service and associate satisfaction scores • Achieve targeted guest service satisfaction goals • Comply with all local, state, federal, and brand life safety policies • Ensure that all property preventive maintenance programs are in place • Ensure all Company and brand required training is executed in the appropriate time frame • Interview, hire, supervise, train, and counsel department managers in the efficient operations of their departments • Develop departmental improvement plans as may be required • Conduct regular visual inspections of the property and guestrooms to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness and service standards are in place • Operate the property in an energy efficient manner QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
