Job Overview
This internship is a part-time opportunity with the Public Information Office. The selected candidate will assist with various responsibilities related to public and internal employee communications. The ideal candidate should be flexible, open to learning, and interested in making a positive impact in the community.
Compensation
• $15.60 Hourly
Responsibilities
• Designing content for ACTV, the government access channel
• Newsletter distribution and production
• Research
• General office work (copying, filing, phones, faxing, etc.)
• Assisting the public with information inquiries
• Special projects
• Writing content for publication in various outlets
• Media release writing
• Information collection and distribution
• Special events
• Other tasks as assigned
For Photo/Video Production Interns, additional tasks may include:
• Photography for online or print outlets
• Media scanning and conversion
• Cataloging and tagging photos and videos
• Video production and editing
• Social media updates
• Video captioning
• Script writing
• Other photo/video tasks

Requirements
• Must be an undergraduate or graduate student
• Preferably enrolled in programs related to government, public interest, marketing, communications, public information, media studies, or a related field
• General intern experience
• Writing and/or editing content for a variety of outlets
• Customer service
• Graphic design experience, particularly with Adobe Creative Suite's Photoshop and/or InDesign applications (preferred, not required)
• For Photo/Video Production Interns, experience in operation of DSLR cameras and/or professional video cameras, video editing (particularly with Adobe Creative Suite applications), film production, and/or script writing (preferred, not required)
