The Division of Development and Alumni Relations at the University of Georgia advances the goals, objectives, and priorities of the university by generating private financial support, building, and maintaining relationships with alumni and donors, and assisting students with career development opportunities. The DAR Finance Office provides central business operations support and budget tracking for DAR units to ensure fiscal policy compliance and responsible use of financial resources.

Position Summary
The Senior Budget Analyst has focused oversight of the fiscal matters, business operations, and yearly budget development process for assigned departments within Development and Alumni Relations. This position reports to the Associate Finance Director and involves skills in finance, budgeting, analytics, organization, and communication. The incumbent will be expected to work with a high level of independence and confidentiality, be sensitive to deadlines, and be knowledgeable of current UGA and UGA Foundation policies and procedures related to fiduciary responsibilities of, and expectations for, the Division.

Budget Development and Management
• Assist with the Division's annual budget development process and manage budget of the Division with focused oversight in fiscal matters and operations for assigned departments. This includes financial consulting with Executive Directors and the Finance Associate Director.
• Regularly lead strategic budget discussions and updates with the Finance Associate Director and each assigned Executive Director in the Division. Assist in facilitating strategic planning within departments and represent the priorities to the Division's central budget office.
• Oversight of accounting, reporting, and financial monitoring of assigned departments and serve as the liaison for departments to Development & Alumni Relations ( DAR ) central finance office as well as to UGA and UGA Foundation central operating offices.
• Independent responsibility for financial health of assigned departments with oversight from the Finance Associate Director.
• In collaboration with assigned departments, recommend and submit budget modifications to the original budget to the Finance Associate Director.
• Independent responsibility for the tracking and clearing of required accounting entries for assigned departments, including prepays, payables and open encumbrances.
• Independent responsibility for managing the restricted account activity of assigned departments and ensuring all information is accurate and uploaded into appropriate financial systems.
• Manage the year end process for assigned departments and provide guidance and strategy to effectively manage and use the financial resources of the departments.

Reporting and Analysis
• Create efficient and timely budget reporting for the Finance Associate Director, Senior Director, and Executive Directors of assigned departments to ensure informed and strategic decision making. Includes identification and analysis of data from the budget cube, Financial and Budget Management systems, UGA Foundation FAME system and other sources of data to identify trends, make projections and create reports.
• Supervise and approve all financial transactions for the assigned departments.
• Work collaboratively with departments and serves as a resource to help identify and resolve complex problems encountered in UGA's financial and data-based systems.

Contracts Management
• Oversee and manage contracts for assigned departments in Division. Includes providing guidance and direction to assigned departments in the preparation of required documentation and process for executing contracts. Includes understanding the terms allowed by UGA Legal, UGA Procurement and UGA Foundation Expenditure Control and establishing contacts in those units to facilitate the process. Aiding the department in communication and negotiation with the vendor. Track all contracts for assigned departments regarding execution, payments and proactively prompt the submission of renewals to allow sufficient time to execute the contract with UGA Procurement or UGA Foundation Expenditure Control.
• Lead regular training and refresher sessions with assigned departments regarding contracts.
