In this role you may be expected to:Operate robotic and manual MIG weld machinesPerform quality checks utilizing weld and attribute gages and other measuring toolsPerform in station repair on defective welds using grindersFollow documented procedures standard work and routings to perform safe and defect free operations to create and machine componentsUse lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 25 lbs.Basic Qualifications:Must have welding experienceorHave a welding trade certificate/diplomaorRecent completion of technical school MIG welding courseworkPhysical requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation):Willing and able to sit or stand for prolonged periodsWilling and able to perform repetitive operationsWilling and able to lift up to 25 lbs.Top candidates will also have:Welding experience in a manufacturing environmentMIG welding experienceMIG welding certificationRobotic welding systems experienceCaterpillar product knowledgeExcellent attendance recordEffective communication and interpersonal skillsSuccessful candidates must be able to pass the following AWS D1.1 welder qualifications in training:Limited thickness groove test in the 1G (flat groove) position.The welds will be inspected visually, as well as destructively tested (bend test) and sectioned to verify proper penetration.Additional Information: This is a part-time position on 2nd shift or 3rd shift. Entry pay starts at 21.25/hr (includes 8%-night shift premium). Employees should make their current manager aware of their application. Employees on L3 active discipline or in current role less than 6 months are not eligible for consideration. Employees will be eligible for a PART-TIME benefit program. All work schedules must be approved prior to acceptance and approval of position. Part-time employees cannot work more than 32 hours/week.Visa Sponsorship is not available for this position.
