Registered Nurse (RN) Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown Telemetry- Contract opportunities are throughout OHIO including: Columbus, Cleveland, Youngstown, Cincinnatti, Springfield
• 36-hour week (3x12)
• 12-hour shifts: MOST contracts are NIGHTS 7p-7:30a; if you want DAYS 7a-730pm move quickly!
• 13-week contract
• Travel Stipend vary and are base on US Government allowances (GSA.com): Must live greater than 50-80 miles from the facility to qualify as traveler and receive the stipends • OHIO Housing: $959/wk - $1085
• OHIO Meals/Incidentals: Minimum $413/wk - S518/wk
• Gross depends on location:  $1800-$2300
• EXPERIENCE is REQUIRED - Must be RECENT.  If you haven't been in one of these specialties in the last year, you will not qualify.
Registered Nurse (PCU) Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown Telemetry Requirements
• Minimum of 18 months ICU stepdown or IMC/intermediate care or TCU/Transitional Care Unit experience.
• MUST HAVE min 18 months PERM experience in specialty applying for PRIOR to travel
• Covid vaccine or Medical/Religious exemption accepted
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) in OH or Compact License
• BLS, ACLS
• Interpret telemetry strips
What Is a Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown Telemetry in a Hospital? PCU is Progressive Care Unit, could also be known as ICU stepdown or IMC/intermediate care or TCU/Transitional Care Unit. . PCU RNs must be EXPERIENCED in critical care as these patient require high monitoring. Some of the critical conditions commonly seen are:
• Cardiac conditions, such as MI, defibrillator, pacemaker implant, post heart cath,
• Acute Stroke
• Cancer or orthopedic surgery
• Acute and Severe pneumonia
• Acute Sepsis or other serious infections
• Chronic wounds
• Acute/Chronic/Ventilators
• High risk IV medications   Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, phenylephrine, vasopressin, dopamine, and Dobutamine, Nitro, Heparin, Insulin, etc
What Does a Progressive Care Nurse Do? Progressive care nurses are skilled at monitoring and assessing acutely ill patients. These patients are often on multiple medications and are at an increased risk for complications. It’s the job of progressive care nurses to monitor critical vital signs, detect any changes, and initiate life-saving interventions if needed. Progressive care requires recent critical care experience in ICU, Telemetry, Transitional Care or Progressive Care.

EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
LICENSURE
Current and unrestricted RN nursing license in the state of practice or recognized state accepting Compact/Multi State licensure. ACTIVE license required
EXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 18 months RECENT (within the last 12 months) continuous experience as an RN in Acute Care areas: ICU, Telemetry, Transitional Care, Intermmediate Care or Progressive Care.
CREDENTIALS
Minimimally:  Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, NIHSS
