Job Title: Special Events Manager
Department: Events
Reports To: General Manager
Hours: 40+ hours a week, including weekends (Longer hours during events season)
Job Function:
We are searching for an enthusiastic Special Events Manager with a "can-do" attitude to assist our organization in hosting events that enhance our organization's image, improve client loyalty, and enhance our brand-to-client experience. The Events Manager will plan and manage our events calendar, negotiate quotes and agreements with vendors, assist with event marketing, monitor timeframes and budgets, network, and deliver event brief objectives. Your creativity, organizational skills, and vision will assist our organization in amplifying brand visibility, enhancing client and employee relations, and improving our organization's growth through events that effectively communicate business strategy and brand personality.
The ideal candidate for this role should demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities, interpersonal skills, multi-tasking skills, and excellent time-management skills. The event manager should reinforce client-to-business relations, improve the organization's image, and deliver event objectives effectively.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manage, direct, and monitor business hospitality and events activities and the overall performance of the team to agreed criteria, targets, and budgets
• Conducts short and long-term planning and management for events and sales
• Develops and recommends the budget, marketing plans, and objectives and manages within those approved plans
• Develop, implement, and constantly modify sales action plans
• Maintains and exceeds budgeted sales and profits in all event areas
• Accurately prepare and present requests for proposals for both client and Goodstone
• Brainstorming and implementing event plans and concepts
• Managing branding and communication
• Trains, supervises and works with event staff to solicit and book weddings and special events, as well as plan, merchandise, and execution the functions
• Responsible for obtaining permits for the special event
• Execute post-event reports
• Work with other departments to update BEOs for the day of the event
Preferred Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing Hotel and Restaurant Management or related major
• Minimum or two years of proven hotel group/event experience, specifically in corporate/catering service segments
• Excellent communications and presentation abilities
• Previous experience with HubSpot, Maestro, and Triple Seat is a plus
• Strong negotiation and organizational skills
• Good leadership skills
• Highly Organized
• Good time management
• Proficiency in various event software
• Expert interpersonal skills
• Risk management experience

Supervisory Responsibility:
This position manages event staff.
Work Environment:
• This job operates in a professional hospitality environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers,    phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
• Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, stressful environment, communicate with others, and effectively interact with guests
• Must be able to accept constructive criticism from supervisors
• Must be able to change activity frequently and cope with last-minute room changes
• Must be able to work inside and out in all weather conditions
• Must be able to maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently expected to stand for long periods; walk; climb stairs comfortably; use hands to finger; handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms and requires the ability to lift products occasionally, supplies of up to 50 pounds.
