Join us in our mission to shape the future of gaming and bring the best gaming products to the world!The Sr. Tax Accountant, Income Tax will be responsible to prepare, review, and research federal, state and local tax accounting and compliance for all GameStop and affiliated business entities. The principal business responsibilities for this position are to maintain income tax filing compliance with both federal, state and local governments. Roles and ResponsibilitiesTax CompliancePrepare/review and file all periodic US State and local income and franchise tax returns, tax estimates, and extensionsMaintain Cash Forecasts for related tax compliance payments and receiptsPoint of contact for queries and general correspondence with States and Local offices, and managing overall relationshipMaintain fixed assets for Federal tax depreciation purposes.Work closely with Sr. Tax Manager to review federal and state tax returns and other mattersResearch Federal, State and Local tax issues and prepare tax issues memos, as applicable.Tax ProvisionAssist the Tax Manager in reviewing the annual and quarterly federal and state tax provision documentation, including managing the federal and state income tax payable, updating uncertain federal and state tax positions, and tracking federal and state deferred items. Review quarterly tax account reconciliationsProvides input on company tax accounting policies and calendars and ensures adherence thereto through internal and external relationships. Proactively partner with stakeholders within GameStop and externallyTax PlanningAssist Sr. Tax Manager with monitoring and understanding forecasted Taxable Income /Loss and implications of changes in forecast to tax deliverablesParticipate in domestic legal entity rationalization initiatives to ensure relevancy and optimal tax outcomeAssist Sr. Tax Manager with domestic transfer-pricing studies and liaising with business and vendors to achieve best outcome for GameStop Tax AuditsManages state and local income tax audits and controversies, including meeting with tax advisors and governmental officials, developing strategies, and preparing documentation.  Tax Process and System ImprovementsWork closely with International Tax function to achieve joint Tax goalsManage tax vendors and responsibility for timely submission of month-end accrualsAssist Sr Tax Manager to identify opportunities to improve processes and optimize tax systems and automation toolsRequired Skills and ExperienceAccredited bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field5+ years of US State and local primarily and federal corporate income tax experience secondary required, some of which must be in Big 4 Tax function working on US States/local practice and some in private industry managing US state tax functionExperience with research, analysis, and interpretation of federal, state and local income tax laws.Direct experience in identifying relevant State and Local tax issues and ability to determine their potential impact to GameStopExpert project planning skills, including the ability to organize, prioritize and control job responsibilities to meet deadlines in an environment with overlapping and competing prioritiesProficient knowledge of tax compliance software including OneSource and HyperionProficient quantitative analysis skills, including the ability to interpret, analyze, organize and report financial data.  Preferred Skills and ExperienceExperience in global, publicly traded organizationsCPA, MBA, MS Taxation strongly desiredRetail or US based multinational corporation experience
