JOB GOAL: To increase the educational experiences of our students by
providing support and input into instructional methods of our staff as well as maintain
a safe and secure network.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Licensed teacher in Virginia (or eligible for a Virginia license) preferred.
• Experience as a classroom teacher preferred.
• Experience in providing instructional technology resources and profession development to teachers and students preferred.
• Experience in technical infrastructure, hardware and software.
• Ability to organize technology staff members and coordinate with outside companies in order to maintain and upgrade the technology infrastructure for the school division.
PERFORMANCE DUTIES:
1. Oversees the design and installation and maintenance of technology including, but not limited to, infrastructure equipment, servers, personal computers and all other support and instructional software.
2. Provides assistance to and collaborate with division staff for support of instructional plans designed to accomplish the objectives established by the state and local school division as well as design and conduct professional development activities for staff.
3.Develops, implements and maintains the division technology plan which aligns with the instructional vision of the division and state.
4. Works directly with school principals and administration to ensure proper technology use.
5. Approves all technology purchasing related to hardware.
6. Manages technology specialist scheduling and location assignments.
7. Collaborates with administration as part of the instructional department to continue to integrate technology into curriculum.
8. Attends all division staff meetings as required.
9. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information as expected of all staff.
10. Discharges all responsibilities and fulfills all obligations as specified in contract, policies and guidelines of the Floyd County School Board.
11. Performs other duties as assigned by the superintendent.
