OverviewWant to be a part of an amazing organization who helps treat the most amazing patients?OHC is currently accepting resumes for a board certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a strong training and/or experience in Gynecologic Oncology. This role will join the Gynecologic Oncology team seeing patients in partner with our GYN physicians and holding independent clinic.Through a team based care approach, they will educate patients on treatments, provide post-operative care, build patient relationships through long term follow-up clinic and provide other general support to maintain the high level of care our patients are accustomed to.While oncology experience is preferred, a heart of service and a desire to continue the mission will help you find success.About OHC:For more than 30 years, OHC has remained the region's premier provider of treatments for adult cancer and complex blood disorders, offering a wide range of services, state-of-the-art treatments and leading edge technologies. Responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients in tandem wtih physician and care team.Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated. Performs procedures and post-operative care with minimal supervision. Assesses patient/family needs and provides education. Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice. Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements. Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion. Likely to provide case management for patients and their families. Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials. May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed. May promote/provide staff educationResponsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour callsMay mentor new advanced practice providers May precept APP studentsOther duties as assigned Qualifications The ideal candidate has:Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing school and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program or successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.This position typically requires a minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, preferably in the chosen specialty.RN state licensure and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in practicing state.Current state licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.AOCNP preferred or current NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) certification.Certificat of Authority to practice in the state of Ohio, RN and APRNCurrent basic life support (BLS)/CPR certification required.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 40 lbs.Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
