Duties and Responsibilities
• Evaluation of and material selection of metals, composites, coatings, etc.
• Expertise in material evaluation, testing, and Selection, as well as in-depth statistical computation and analysis
• Develop Test Plans, Test Reports, and Presentations of technical data and content
• Perform advanced testing on composite, metallic, and polymeric materials
• Provide support to QA / QC production
• Provide engineering expertise, work order planning, and execution of conformity documentation as Manufacturing Engineer support for M&P
• Act as the Lead M&P functional engineer and liaison to manufacturing engineering for automation and robotics
• Support production, QA, and NDT Teams with robotic programming and troubleshooting
Qualifications
• B.S. in Materials Science & Engineering, Composite Engineering, or Aerospace
• Minimum 6 years of engineering experience. Previous experience with composites and / or metals in a hands-on processing or technician role is highly desirable
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in project transfer from R&D to Production, and / or Materials and Process (M & P) Development Team
• Knowledge of process optimization / automation, robotics, and / or composite material material surface prep.
• Knowledge of material testing equipment, techniques, data collection and analysis, and statistical evaluation. Weibull life analysis is a plus
• Extensive experience working with or in Quality Assurance
• Aviation experience is preferred, but not required ( FAA part 23 or 25 aircraft materials)
Competencies
• Computer Skills: Minitab, python, MATLAB experience a plus. Creo knowledge experience a plus.
• Robot programming experience is a plus.
