The Information Security Office works in conjunction with all other sections in the agency as well as other state agencies such as the Department of Justice, Oregon State Police, Secretary of State, and the Department of Administrative Services Cyber Security Services.The Information Security Office is responsible for the following aspects of information and cyber security:Creating cyber security policy and procedures based on regulations, requirements, industry standards, and best practicesMonitoring and responding to signs of threats from internal and external network connectionsReviewing audit logs of servers, workstations, and mobile devices for signs of malware or intrusions and taking appropriate actions to remediate or mitigate detected issuesScanning all information technology devices within the agency to ensure vulnerabilities are quickly addressed and software patches are promptly appliedProviding eDiscovery solutions in response to Public Records Requests and Investigatory needsPerforming digital forensics on computers and mobile devices for Public Records Requests and Investigatory needsThis position provides information assurance and cybersecurity to the Adult in Custody (AIC) Network. This position is a key part of the team, helping to test and develop new strategies, processes, or technologies to provide the best combination of functionality and security to stakeholders and approximately 20,000 customers at multiple locations across the State. The position adheres to the industry standard of Separation of Duties and does not make direct changes to system hardware or software, instead providing information and direction to IS staff for appropriate changes.The functions of the Information Security Office affect each adult in custody, staff member, contractor, and volunteer that interacts with the department information system or network by protecting their personally identifiable information, ensuring Criminal Justice Information is not inappropriately accessed, as well as providing safe, secure options and processes for implementing new technology that improves the livelihood of everyone.What We Are Looking ForMinimum Qualifications Five years of information systems experience in information assurance or related field.ORAn Associate's degree in Information Assurance or related fieldORCompletion of a two-year accredited vocational training program in information assurance or related field;ANDthree years of information systems experience in information assurance or related field.ORA Bachelor's degree in Information Assurance or related fieldANDOne year of information systems experience in information assurance or related field.Requested Skills:Current certification in Digital Forensics (CHFI, CCE, or equivalent)Current industry or vendors specific security certificationStrong understanding of regulatory compliance (HIPAA, CJIS, FISMA, etc.)Strong understanding of risk management concepts, standards, and industry best practicesExperience implementing security controls, log reviews, security audits, eDiscovery, etc.Strong understanding of Cloud-based technologiesKnowledge of data security, privacy and confidentiality, physical and logical security, and reporting requirementsOnly the candidates whose experience most closely matches the qualifications and requested skills of this position will be invited to an interview.In the Work Experience section of your online application clearly describe your experience as it relates to the minimum and special qualifications, requested skills, and/or desired attributes. In office work may involve contact with Adults in Custody.Requirements for EmploymentYou must be able to pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following convictions are likely to result in being disqualified for this position: felony convictions, computer theft, identify theft and fraud.
