Position Summary:
The Transportation Specialist will be required to interact and service our customers and service providers, to ensure a safe and proper delivery of product. The Transportation Specialist should provide the best in class customer service and work as a team with warehouse personnel to ensure all product is delivered in a timely manner. The Transportation Specialist will be responsible for driving a CMV (commercial motor vehicle) and therefore responsible for maintaining an up-to-date CDL license.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Drive a CMV (commercial motor vehicle) to deliver the product within the local route assigned.
Operating a CMV in different conditions (e.g., highway driving, side/local roads, city/country as well as tight loading and unloading positions.
Must be able to be forklift certified.
Perform general housekeeping tasks and maintain the cleanliness of vehicles and other areas as instructed.
Prepare, process, and maintain all necessary transportation documentation & information – both in and out of various operating systems – required for DOT compliance.
Develop strong interaction, in and amongst customers, service providers, and the internal team to ensure fluid, efficient movement of product.
Secure proof of delivery by using a supplied (EPOD) Electronic Proof of Delivery device.
Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a timely manner through collaboration with the Operations manager and sales team.
Comply with all applicable safety, transportation regulations, and company policies.
Responsible for maintaining Quality and Safety awareness.
