*POSITION SUMMARY*
The *Buyer *role is responsible for general and specific tasks related to the purchasing of quality inventory necessary to provide a steady flow for all customer needs, while ensuring efficiency and cost savings when it comes to price negotiations and inventory on hand.
*RESPONSIBILITIES*
* Tactical management of assigned products
* Evaluate suppliers on the basis of price, quality and speed of delivery of their products
* Negotiate price and lead time on items in order to maintain and/or improve company goals
* Continuously evaluate and monitor contracts to ensure supplier compliance with what was established, while determining when there is a need for changes
* Maintain and review records of items bought, costs, deliveries, quality, and inventories
* Prepare purchase orders for products that will provide quality, a reasonable price and the necessary quantity
* Communicate with suppliers regarding open orders
* All other duties as assigned
*REQUIREMENTS*
* Bachelor's degree in the related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
* 1-2 years of purchasing and/or related experience preferred
