POSITION TITLE: Youth Mental Health Navigator
START DATE: August 15, 2023
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Special Education Services
POSITION SUMMARY:
Provide social work services in the role of Youth Mental Health Navigator by collaborating with school staff, caregivers, and local mental health providers. This Position is in collaboration with the Greater Mankato Area United Way.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Follow-up with school staff, caregivers, and local agencies to ensure services are effective.
- Maintain effective communication with local mental health providers and relevant professionals with a focus on students experiencing social and emotional issues.
- Support families in navigating the mental health system to ensure students successfully get connected and stay connected to timely, quality, and culturally-competent services.
- Collaborate with school staff and caregivers regarding students who need community mental health resources and services.
WORK REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS: - MN licensure as a School Psychologist, School Counselor, or School Social Worker preferred.
- Predominantly in elementary schools.
- 191-day contract.
- Some summer work may be available.
- Local and state-wide travel as part of service delivery.
- Some lifting and movement of materials and/or equipment typically <50 lbs.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - Master’s degree preferred.
- Others with experience in mental health fields will be considered.
SALARY RANGE: $50,000-$55,000, commensurate with experience.
