About the AgencyThe Oregon Criminal Justice Commission located in Salem, Oregon is currently accepting applications for an Executive Support Specialist 1. This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill a current vacancy. This position is not represented by a union. The mission of the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission (CJC) is to improve the legitimacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of state and local criminal justice systems by serving as a centralized and impartial forum for statewide policy development and planning. CJC delivers over $100 million in grant funding each biennium to implement and further these goals. Examples of these programs include prison diversion efforts, specialty courts, restorative justice, and mental health treatment. CJC is also the primary research agency for statewide public safety. This creates a unique atmosphere of 25 professionals working on advancing public safety in Oregon. CJC is a hybrid work friendly agency and respects the need for schedule flexibility. The CJC campus is in the North Capitol Mall Heritage Park in three historic Salem houses. Natural light and a park outside your office door is a nice perk of working at CJC. What will I be doing?This position works as principle administrative support for the Executive Director. Responsibilities including coordinating large group meetings, scheduling travel, tracking expenses, and being the primary point-of-contact for members of the public. This position will work with diverse groups of stakeholders and facilitate communication, information, and any other necessary work for the day-to-day operations of the Criminal Justice Commission.Aiding the Operations, Programs, and Research teams. Report publication and information updates on the agency website are also a key responsibility for this position. Excellent communication skills, along on being able to appropriately triage tasks as they arrive to best serve the State of Oregon and the agency, are the two most important qualities for this position.What are the Minimum Qualifications?three years of clerical/secretarial experience which included:one year at a full performance level performing typing, word processing, or other generating of documents; AND:lead work responsibility or coordination of office procedures.Courses or training in Office Occupations or Office Technology may be substituted for up to one year of the clerical/secretarial experience.
