Position Summary:
Sovah Martinsville is seeking a full-time Lab Courier to to transport laboratory specimens from the laboratory to  customers to the main laboratory. The Lab Courier will deliver radiology films as directed by Radiology Department.
• Performs transport services in a timely fashion while meeting schedules.
• Loads and/or unloads vehicles in a systematic fashion.
• Transports to or from appropriate destination, following all driving and safety rules.
• Performs lab inventory and delivers supplies to outreach accounts.
• Responsible for rotating lab centrifuges in physician offices following preventive maintenance protocol.
• Responsible for processing lab reports for lab/radiology courier service.
• Maintains travel logs for outreach vehicle.
• Utilizes the laboratory and hospital QA/PI plans to continually improve processes and designs.
Minimum Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must have valid drivers license.
Required Skills:
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Typical Physical Demands: May require extended periods of standing or sitting. Some bending, stooping, or stretching is required. May require lifting and carrying 5-25 pounds. Requires full range of motion including eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges. Requires ability to communicate and interact with others in person and on the phone. Also requires high degree of mental alertness and the ability to handle a high degree of stress and/or irregular work hours.

• No prior experience required.
