It’s time to look at Taylor.Your Opportunity: Navitor, Inc., a Taylor Corp company, is looking for a Director of Accounting for the Distributor Business Unit. We are looking for a true Finance Partner that can be a key player in his vision to transform the Business Unit into a growing and profitable part of Taylor's Portfolio.Your Responsibilities:Manage P&L for five businessesApplies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepares internal and external financial reports.Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments and income.Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements, prepares and consolidates financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.Designs, modifies, installs, and/or maintains accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions.Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures and internal controls.Responsible for month end close.May oversee technical accounting research for complex business transactions and implementation of new accounting standards.Participate in special projects, including large and complex assignments such as business integrations, and system implementations.Manage/partner with shared service functions including Payroll, Accounts Payable, Expense Report processing, Travel and Record to Report activities ensuring accuracy, appropriate controls and adherence to SLA’s.Assess opportunity for further migration of work to SSCs, COEs, etc. and identify further opportunities for optimization and transformation to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of controllership processes.Liaison and collaborate with business and functional department leaders such as supply chain, contracts & pricing, IT, customer service, human resources, legal & regulatory affairs.Collaborate with business FP&A team on accurate revenue recognition practices and other accounting matters.Oversee compliance of government reporting requirements including all tax requirements such as, sales tax & income tax compliance.You Must Have: Bachelor’s degree7+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment5+ years of leadership experienceRecognized accounting designation such as Certified Public Accountant or equivalentDemonstrated experience leading a team/department.Strong communication skills, both written and verbalStrong attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage several projects simultaneouslyAbility to operate within a fast-paced, matrix organization and various levels of managementAbility to manage and manipulate data to develop financial analysisHigh integrity and self-confidenceExperience with business partneringEagerness to learn and expand responsibilitiesDemonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environmentStrong organization and prioritization skillsHigh degree of initiative and self-motivationStrong example of ethics and complianceExcellent problem solving and strong leadership / influencing skillsSelf-starter with the insight and vision to propose changes even in the face of strong oppositionHigh level of strategic and innovative thinkingWorking knowledge of SAP and highly proficient in ExcelWe Would Also Prefer:Advanced degreeAbout Taylor CorporationOne of the top five graphics communications companies in North America, Taylor’s family of companies provide a diverse set of products, services, and technologies addressing the toughest communication challenges.
