JOB TITLE: Bus Washer
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Supervisor of Fleet Maintenance
Performs vehicle exterior and interior cleaning. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Supervisor of Fleet Maintenance.
This is medium work requiring the exertion of up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects; work requires climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly, or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for observing and discerning progress of work. The worker is subject to outside environmental and atmospheric conditions.
• Washes exterior of buses.
• Cleans interior of the buses.
• Paints vehicle wheels and bumpers as needed.
• Washes and cleans other vehicles owned by the school system.
• Performs related tasks as required.
These functions are primarily completed in the summer when all buses are required to be washed. Position also may be needed other times throughout the year.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of how to operate pressure washing systems and use of supplies required to wash vehicles. Commercial driver’s license and ability to move and park school buses in tight spaces is also required.
Possession of a Commercial Driver’s License with required endorsements valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
