Job Description Provide initial and update courses in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), according to American Heart Association guidelines. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background. Job Duties Certify participants on BLS, ACLS and PALS skills. Clean and maintain equipment. Assist with processing of paperwork. Maintain current AHA BLS, ACLS and/or PALS instructor certification. Maintain knowledge of current American Heart Association standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Education, Credentials, Licenses: •National Certification at the Paramedic level (NREMT-Paramedic) •OR current license in the state where work is being performed at the Paramedic level or higher •Successful completion of state-approved and CAAHEP-accredited (or one that has a Letter of Review) NREMT Paramedic (NRP) program •Maintains contact hour requirements for licensure, including all state-required courses. •Certified as an American Heart Association BLS Instructor •Certified as an American Heart Association ACLS Instructor •Certified as an American Heart Association PALS Instructor Specialized Knowledge: •Excellent communication skills, •Work independently and have skill in working and collaborating as part of a team •Knowledge of adult education principles and instructional media. Kind and Length of Experience: •1 year experience as a Paramedic
