JOB TITLE: School Nutrition Operations Specialist
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of School Nutrition Programs
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The position is responsible for assisting the director of school nutrition programs in the administration and management of special nutrition programs (CACFP/SFSP) and departmental procurement procedures in order to provide the maximum benefit from the department resources. The position works 12 months per year.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Coordinates and monitors for special programs (CACFP/SFSP) and maintains and monitors schedule to ensure audits are done in a timely manner.
• Collects and consolidates meal and snack counts for special programs (CACFP/SFSP).
• Verifies consolidations at month-end before turning in to director for final check.
• Tracks and submits vendor rebates for reimbursement.
• Processes applications for Free/Reduced meals and completes required reports to meet deadlines.
• Uses the MUNIS Financial Reporting System to enter requisitions for food, supplies, and equipment or writes Field Procurement Authorizations as needed.
• Manages centralization of main vendor food orders.
• Manages produce orders.
• Audits school-level physical inventories on a rotating quarterly basis.
• Assists the Director with specifications and obtaining quotes to make micro-purchases as needed.
• Assists the Director with the preparation of IFBs / RFPs.
• Manages procurement files to ensure accurate records of all procurement transactions.
• Assists the Director with research for grants and budget preparation.
• Maintains SNA employee records, turn in annual reports to Chapter President as needed.
• Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• High School Diploma required; Associate or Bachelor Degree preferred and/or commensurate experience. Certificate through SNA required within six months of hire.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel. Comfortable with learning new computer software programs.
• Prior School Nutrition Food Service experience preferred. Foodservice management experience required.

Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels. Visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of office equipment, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities. The worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.
