Job Description
We are recruiting for an experienced Project Engineer to join our client in beautiful Charlottesville Virginia.
Our client is a fast growing innovator and producer of food ingredients that recently opened a chemical production plant in Virginia. They are expanding and gathering resources and financial backing to build additional production plants in the U.S.
This role develops and implements process and operational improvements at their current plant and will lead capital projects and plant installations at future production sites.
You will work around a range of chemical process and mechanical systems - similar to a brewery operation (tanks, piping, filtration, evaporation, reactors, and water process and utilities)
Ideal Background and Experience:
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Chemical engineering or Mechanical Engineering experience ideal)
• Unit operations experience in one of these environments: chemical process, food production, brewing, biotechnology, agriculture ingredients or similar settings (GMP, HACCP, Food safety)
• Solid understanding of plant schematics and P&IDs
• Project Management experience (capital projects and construction)
• Strong understanding of maintenance and equipment reliability methods
• Highly organized, team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
