We are currently looking for a Senior Living Resident Activity Director for Runk & Pratt at Smith Mountain Lake! This position is perfect for someone looking for an opportunity to have fun every day with our senior residents - someone fun and creative who helps make the most of our seniors' day.
Nursing Assistant and/or Certified Nursing Assistant experience is preferred.
(Pay depends on experience)
Responsibilities:
• Must love working with the elderly
• Ensure a quality program of activities that are designed to meet the needs of the residents
• Responsible for restoring self confidence, community reintegration, re-socialization skills, improving physical conditions, leisure education for residents, and one on one programming for the room/bed bound
• Provide mental stimulation and sensory stimulation and develop a plan for each resident that is designed for restoration of the quality of life experienced by the resident
• Encourages hobbies and assists residents in forming small and large group activity
• Creates opportunity for socialization among residents
• Coordinates with marketing team to facilitate in-house events for new prospects
• Responsible for planning and implementing life enriching programs and events which provide socialization opportunities, fitness and wellness activities, educational and recreational programs, as well as spiritual life support based on the needs and preferences of the residents in the community
• Works to encourage residents who have no or low participation
• Documents and maintains all records as required to effectively manage the department
Requirements:
• Experience with senior living activities
• Experience with Alzheimer's, Dementia, & Memory Loss preferred
• This position requires the care team member to be able to reach (overhead), stand, walk, sit, pull, lift, carry, push, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and twist
• This position requires the care team member to be skilled in team building, collaborating with other disciplines
• This position requires the care team member to assess resident moods and revise approach accordingly
• Must have valid driver's license and be able to pass a background check
