Performs semiskilled work providing water aerobics instruction. To be successful in this position, you will be able to perform such tasks as monitoring, educating patrons on water fitness and safety, and maintaining a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for class participants. Work is performed under the general supervision of Assistant Aquatic Supervisor and the Aquatic Supervisor.Shift: Morning- Monday - Friday 8:45 am - 10:35 am Evening- Monday & Wednesday 6:15 pm - 7:45 pm The Town of Blacksburg is an EEO Employer M/F/D/V

Physical RequirementsThis work requires the frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of forceWork regularly requires walking, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, pulling, lifting and standing for extended periods of timeUsing hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motionsOccasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancingWork has standard vision requirementsVocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken wordHearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels, to receive detailed information through oral communications and to make fine distinctions in soundWork requires preparing and analyzing written or computer dataWork will be at an indoor aquatic facility and may include exposure to all types of conditions including chlorine or other pool chemicals, heat, blood or other body fluids
