UC Health is hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor for the Gastrointestinal for the Third shift at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The Gastrointestinal Supervisor will support the Medical Centers’ Gastrointestinal Department, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care and according to policy and procedures.

Unit Details :
• Our physicians draw from personal experience as a backdrop for the compassionate and specialized care that they give to patients at the UC Health Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Program.
• Along with gastroenterological issues, some UC Health Digestive Disease physicians also specialize in hepatology, which focuses on conditions of the liver, gallbladder, billiary tree and pancreas.
• At UC Health, we specialize in advance endoscopic procedures that help diagnose and treat the most complex and challenging cases.

Responsibilities:
The Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The Clinical Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor requires knowledge regarding operational leadership of shift including patient flow and assignment/adjustment of resources to meet dynamic changing needs throughout the shift. The Clinical RN Supervisor will actively identify opportunities for improvement in patient satisfaction, perform trials and report back to leadership on results.
• Supervises staff assigned to their unit or center of excellence and demonstrates the ability to coach and mentor staff.
• Lead and implement operational improvement initiatives and assures compliance via staff coaching and mentoring.
• Identifies needs for specific equipment and ensures adequate and properly functioning equipment and supplies are available for patient care.
• Ensure shift practice is in compliance with state and federal medical laws (EMTALA, HIPAA and House Bill 316).
• Maintain hospital wide and department specific nursing competencies and completes annual competencies in required time frame.
• Collaborate with the Department Educator and/or provides for orientation and educational needs identified in the department.
• Actively involved and engage staff in departmental performance improvement (PI) activities according to department PI plan.
• Provides immediate counseling for staff when specific behaviors or incidents negatively affect patient care or the general work environment. Write up incidents.
Qualifications:
Education: BSN in nursing and current license in state of practice.
Years of Experience: 5 years' clinical and progressive management experience.
