Job Description ENSCO’s Applied Technology and Engineering (ATE) Division designs, develops and manufactures precision, high-speed, real-time vehicle and track inspection systems for the national and international railway market. The ATE Division has an opening for a motivated, self-starting Data Science Intern. The Data Science intern will help to improve our algorithms with modern filtering methods, the priority will be increasing the TP and decreasing the FP rates. Also, the ideal candidate should have a good grasp of the evaluation metrics. The Data Science Intern will develop dashboard and reporting tools that will enhance our understanding of raw data and exception processing.
This is a Forge /ENSCO initiative all candidates that apply must be part of the Forge program.
As a data science intern for ENSCO, you will help build and develop a solution for prediction methodologies and change detection. They hope you can build a reporting service where it will capture the areas of concern from continuous data streamlining and put it into a format such as a dashboard and a document automatically.
This is a high-priority project for ENSCO. From the sea of raw data, they need to find logical results to help clients. Once the summer is over, ENSCO will use those data science reports in their real-world systems.
Qualifications Required (Skills) Currently pursuing a Computer Science major or equivalent with a minimum of 1-year relevant (academic) experience
• Ability to develop on multiple programming languages
• Experience developing software in Python
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good organizational skills
• Must be a participant of the Forge program
Qualifications Desired Java skills are highly recommended.
R and SQL skills are highly recommended
Previous exposure to the continuous data stream for example, for python; pandas, NumPy, sci-kit learn.
