Job Description
The AV Coordinator provides audiovisual, video conferencing, and technical support for instructional, administrative, and special events at the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine campus in Roanoke Virginia. In addition to AV support, this position provides instructional room configuring assistance and will also assist the VTCSOM IT and Assessment and Evaluation departments in proctoring exams. (Training provided)
**Please note: This position’s weekly schedule could vary depending on VTCSOM-hosted special events and/or assessment schedule**
Required Qualifications
Comprehensive knowledge of Windows and Apple-based computer systems, both hardware and operating systems.
Comprehensive knowledge of audio/visual equipment and software
Troubleshooting skills: audiovisual systems, video conferencing, live-streaming platforms, and camera operations.
Able to lift 25-50 lbs and move light furniture and equipment.
Able to effectively communicate with a diverse population of students, employees and community members
Preferred Qualifications
Experience installing and maintaining audiovisual systems in an educational and/or medical school environment.
Experience providing basic Windows and Macintosh OS support in an educational environment. Experience with audiovisual control systems; mobile and fixed sound reinforcement systems; wireless microphone systems; and with video archiving and file conversion.
