Job Summary
Owensboro Community and Technical College is accepting applications for a full-time 10-month faculty, combined coordinator and teaching position that includes key responsibilities in program development, coordination, instruction, assessment, and evaluation. This position will oversee the Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education (IEC) program.
Job Duties:
• Coordinate all aspects of the IEC program to include instruction, development of course materials and resources, recruiting qualified adjunct instructors, budget management, and assessment of student achievement.
• Provide instruction for the IEC program that may include a variety of formats.
• Guide student practicums.
• Ensure the program meets and maintains all applicable regional accreditation requirements to include, annual Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs), Program Outcomes (POs), and Program Review.
• Provide academic advising and career-related counseling for students.
• Engage in active recruitment and retention activities.
• Maintain an awareness of emerging IEC trends and issues.
• Represent the IEC program to community partners, groups, and professional organizations.
• Participate in faculty professional development.
• Collaborate with business and industry for practicum placement, curriculum alignment, and program advisement.
• Assist IEC adjunct instructors with teaching methodology, educational materials, and technology.
• Provide leadership for program improvement, curriculum development, evaluation; review and recommend changes to maintain relevance of academic programs and to meet student, and community needs.
• Participate in college and community activities that serve the mission and vision of OCTC.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary early childhood education, plus 18 graduate hours in education required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Preferred master’s degree in education, plus one or more years of work experience in early childhood education.
Additional Skills Requested:
Expected start date is August 1st the beginning of the Fall semester.
