To ensure comfort of guests by assisting them with any questions, reservations, travel arrangement, etc. that they may have while providing luggage, valet assistance, and shuttle assistance.
What you will have an opportunity to do:
Carry out the policies and procedures of Benchmark Hospitality International at Stonewall Resort while maintaining the highest degree of professionalism and teamwork atmosphere as per standards of service. Follow safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment. The flexibility to work a varied schedule due to business levels and industry demand (7 days a week/365 days a year including holidays). We staff our area from 7am-11:30pm daily. Please note that earlier and later hours may be required during peak seasons. Provides a concierge functions by assessing and offering creative suggestions and recommendations to guest requests, including: Assists guests with making meal and activity reservations. Conducts tours of hotel, guest rooms, and cottages to guests. Maintains the guest service brochure rack with updated brochures or Stonewall Resort, all other State Parks, and local Lewis, Upshur, Braxton, Harrison, and Randolph Co. point of interest following appropriate guidelines for brochure placement. Assists callers and guests with directions and maps. Insuring that all bell functions are consistently met, including: Remains posted in the lobby at the bear table prior to noon and moves to greet all guests in this area and goes out to greet all vehicles that pull in on the drive always inquiring what the guest needs and offering assistance. After noon moves to the drive area and focuses on greeting all vehicles as previously described. Greeting, opening doors for all guests as they enter/exit lobby or front door, providing directions to various event and property locations. Offers valet assistance to every guest w/vehicle; approaches vehicle as soon as it has stopped. Provides luggage and package assistance to and from guest and meeting rooms, informing guests of guest room functions and emergency information while following STOs. Delivery of various guest items throughout hotel as needed. Maintaining cleanliness and appearance of front driveway/loop, main entry door area, behind the black railing in the driveway area, lobby/library, and main parking lot at all times when not assisting guests by picking up all lose trash by use of gloves/broom & butler, emptying all public trash cans and ash trays in these areas, using leaf blower as necessary to remove all non-trash debris or broom & butler if leave blower is not available. Builds and maintains fire in the outdoor fire pit every evening by no later than 6pm, year round. Builds and maintains fire in the lobby fireplace during fall, winter, and spring while approved on all days which start out with temperatures below 55 degrees. Interfacing with front desk/PBX as required for meeting guests needs; does not loiter in the front desk or PBX areas unnecessarily. Is knowledgeable of all hotel and conference center services and upsells.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION OF SHUTTLE/VALET DRIVER
All points in sections 1-5 above with the exception of 5d. Always performs point 5d in the absence of an available GSA when a guest needs assistance or as requested by front office team member or department supervisor Duties also to include: Provide shuttle transportation within the main park area but not outside of the welcome gate as needed to all guests who desire it. Drives shuttle vehicle to the golf maintenance facility as needed for fueling. Maintain cleanliness and safety features of shuttle bus, golf carts, and resort van through frequent inspections; in season cleaning may be done at the golf pro shop while maintaining radio communications Delivering boxes, packages, etc. to locations with-in the park as necessary. Delivers outgoing mail and picks up incoming mail from resort mail box at Park Headquarters and delivers to Sales Office Administrative Assistant Monday - Friday. Provides valet parking assistance for all guests in need of the service.
LAST STATEMENT: Provide assistance in other job classification as determined necessary by immediate superior.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
* Previous customer service experience preferred.
* Valid Driver's license required for all who apply for this position.
* Prior ability to drive a manual shift vehicle is preferred.
* Prior fire building experience.
* All shuttle & valet drivers must be 25 years of age.
* Good written and verbal communication skills, customer service skills, and attention to detail.
* Typing and computer skills preferred.
* Strong organizational and information gathering skills and techniques.
* Outgoing personality & professional demeanor.
* Drive and need to work and succeed.
What are we looking for?
* At least one year in a customer service role with high guest interaction
* A Valid drivers license with no major infractions for 6 months
* Hospitality industry experience is a plus.
* Ability to solve problems when they arise.
* Ability to work in a team environment is a must.
* Pleasant and helpful personality.
* Must be able to work a full shift standing and going back and forth to the valet lot and different areas of the hotel.
