Job Description
Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking qualified candidates for a Graduate Recruitment Assistant.
About the Role
The Graduate Recruitment Assistant is responsible for working with the Graduate Programs and Continuing Studies team in support of promoting graduate programs. This position reports to the Manager of Graduate Services and works closely with them and the graduate program directors to establish and implement outreach and recruitment initiatives. Primary duties include overseeing the enrollment management/applicant relationship tool; preparing print, web, and social media communications; attending graduate fairs; and assisting with administration items for summer workshops. This role also supervises one student worker.
Specific duties include the following:
Oversee automated messaging and applicant data in enrollment management/applicant relationship tool
Assist the Manager of Graduate Services in preparation of print and web communications to promote graduate programs
Set up and maintain social media for the office, and assist program directors as needed with social media
Prepare program materials for information sessions and graduate fairs
Attend graduate fairs to talk with prospective students
Research promotional opportunities, identifying which media, websites, and publications are viewed as essential for each program. Work with program directors to keep marketing and recruitment materials up-to-date.
Provide support and assistance for graduate program directors in sending out mailings and other means of outreach to prospective graduate students
Assist the Vice President for Graduate Programs and Continuing Studies in supporting communications with higher education partners, professional and creative organizations in relevant fields, and other entities that advance and support recruitment goals
Work with program directors, instructors, and the Manager of Graduate Services on workshops offered in the summer. This includes preparation of promotional materials, responding to inquiries regarding the workshops, and interacting with participants as requested.
Position Qualifications
Successful applicants must have the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree
Minimum of two years of related experience
Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Strong organizational, multitasking, detail, and accuracy skills
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office
Abilities to learn about the Hollins graduate programs and to effectively share that information with prospective students in a variety of ways
Ability to work well with current and prospective students, faculty, and the public
Abilities to handle frequent interruptions and manage priorities
Abilities to self-start, work independently, and collaborate as part of a team
Understanding of and commitment to working in and fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment
Preferred candidates will have:
Experience recruiting students
Familiarity with social media and knowledge of how to post promotional materials
Experience with Technolutions Slate CRM and/or Ellucian Banner
