Full Job Description
The Lutheran Home at Topton, A Diakon Senior Living Community - A picturesque senior living campus in northeastern Berks County, The Lutheran Home at Topton has existed since 1896. The Lutheran Home at Topton is seeking skilled and caring individuals to be part of Diakon’s Many Hands One Heart team. Employees are able to use the free fitness center and beautifully landscaped campus with walking trails, as well as receive discounts at the Front Porch Café and Countryside Inn Restaurant. General Responsibilities:
• Responsible for providing spiritual leadership and spiritual services to residents, families, and staff.
• Visits all nursing care and personal care/assisted living residents upon admission/ move-in and at least quarterly.
• Maintain notes for each visit on the chart of each resident in the nursing care center and personal care/assisted living.
• Provides and/or coordinates worship opportunities for residents, e.g., weekly and special worship services, Bible studies, communion (group or private), bedside prayer.
Education/Training: Rostered within the ELCA or denomination with whom ELCA has full communion partnership. Certified by Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) preferred. Certification by APC obtained within three years of employment required.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) years’ pastoral experience preferred.
ADA: Ability to bend, stoop, sit, reach, and lift items weighing up to 25 lbs.; visual and auditory skills.
Compensation and Benefits:
