Judson Smith is based just outside Boyertown, PA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of ATW Companies. We are a leading manufacturer of metal tubular parts and machined components to custom specifications for the medical device, aerospace and automotive industries. Capabilities include Swiss Screw machine parts, laser cutting and welding, tube fabrication, CNC milling/turning, wire EDM and more.
Candidate would have a strong background in setting up CNC equipment, manufacturing and measuring equipment such as a micrometer, caliper, and/or vision systems. Laser machine set-up is preferred as well as a high understanding of G-code and the Cartesian coordinate system.
• You are required to maintain a clean and safe workspace at all times.
• Keeping a mindset of 'production first', sets up and programs machines to perform a number of different job orders. Tests performance of devices; performs first article inspection and run off. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections. Determines changes in dimensional requirements and makes adjustments as required. Works with production supervisor to minimize set ups and set up times.
• Observes machines in operation and listens to sounds to locate causes of trouble. May be required to dismantle the machine to gain access to and remove/replace defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices as necessary.
• Will work from work instructions and procedure sheets instructions to perform operations at assigned area. Performs accurate entries in ERP, payroll, and quality documentation; maintains accurate records and logs as required.
• Contribute to problem solving to improve product quality, providing feedback/suggestions for improvement on work instructions and/or processes,
• Lubricates and cleans machines according to the PM schedule.
• Trains and develops others.
• Assists engineering and/or quality as needed on special projects.
• Maintains excellent and punctual attendance.
• Employees must understand the general requirements of ISO9001:2008/2015, AS9100 and FDA as they relate to Judson Smith’s Quality Management System.
• May perform other duties as requested.
• High understanding of G-code.
• Minimum high school diploma or GED. Technical school training or higher education is preferred.
• Effective communication language skills – both written and verbal with the ability to follow oral instructions.
• Ability to learn and retain the proper use of and interpret measuring tools/devices.
• Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
